Baseball tryout camps have the benefit that you can just enter one and for a small sum of money start practice right away. It doesn’t take a hero to go to one such camp and get a grip on a baseball bat and hit those home runs. Major league baseball tryout camps are hotbeds of professionalism though. The top make it there and from them the crème de la crème are selected. That’s the thing with pro baseball tryout camps. There are more expectations from the novice players and a greater caliber in playing style is demanded. Maybe it is the money which these sports generate in this commercial period that has the coaches so critically evaluating the players. Anyways, whatever the case, there’s two choices you have: one, you could go to a simple tryout camp. This is better. The other is the pros. But it will take more work and is high risk as well. Which means you could get kicked out anytime.

Boys baseball camps have an air of young energy and familiar bravery about them. Like most youth baseball camps these all-male camps have some pretty nasty affairs going on in them. Children can be so cruel sometimes. Team spirit aside there has to be some provision for the weaker players so that they do not get picked on by the bullies in the game. But it’s a sad feature of any youth baseball camp that the survival of the fittest cruelly eliminates lesser mortals in an inhuman way.

Meanwhile, high school baseball camps are full of horny teenagers who don’t give a damn either way. They come on the field thinking they are gods and leave it in a mess. Maybe it is the testosterone or just plain teen angst. Whatever the case, in high school, baseball is at its fieriest.

A baseball fantasy camp is just a vicarious means of pleasure in the sport for adults who have nothing better to do but tell boring stories to each other. Fantasy baseball camp lets those unfit enough become fit enough via a mind-bending play time devoted to statistics. Fantasy camp and baseball have such a relationship to each other that it makes one wonder that maybe all creativity ends in criticism. Those who were players once retire and become grouches who play for the sake of playing alone.
